Helping Older Adults Search for Health Information Online: A Toolkit for Trainers

Summary

Find here lesson plans and tools to help trainers empower older adults to find health information independently. Lesson plans are geared for beginning or intermediate students. Additional resources include a training video, recruitment materials, and tips for making a computer classroom environment that is accessible and fosters learning. The training focuses on two resources, NIHSeniorHealth.gov and MedLineplus.gov, but also provides tools for finding and evaluating information elsewhere.
