Affordable Housing Financing and Subsidies
The first in a series on housing issues, this brief provides an overview of various federal and state housing financing programs that can be used to support low income workers with disabilities. The brief also summarizes the related nature of housing and employment services and the impacts of the current housing market on employees with disabilities. The series is meant to provide information to MIG grantees and help them create linkages with agencies providing direct housing services.

Maximum HOME per-unit subsidy
Can Participating Jurisdictions (PJs) use the higher statutory exceptions to the maximum Section 221(d)(3) mortgage amounts, authorized by Section 221 of the General Provisions of Title II, Division K of the FY 2008 Appropriations Act, to determine their maximum HOME per-unit subsidy limits. HUD has issued a revised HOMEfires to provide more clarity on the procedures for establishing the maximum HOME per-unit subsidy limits.
